Statement of Purpose

Wix-Brown is the home of the BEARS and we share, teach, and discuss these important values on a regular basis.  Each month, we recognize students who have exemplified each of these concepts during our month-end assembly.

B – Belonging – Every person at our school is an important and valued member of our community who belongs and is included at Wix-Brown.  We respect, value, and honour each other’s differences.  All our bears belong!

E – Effort –  We put forth our best effort in everything that we do.  In our social interactions and academic pursuits, we strive to do the best that we can each and every day.

A – Accountability – We take responsibility for our actions, acknowledge how they impact others, and make efforts to restore relationships when we make mistakes.  Taking ownership for how our actions impact others is part of the learning that we do together.

R – Respect – We treat each other, ourselves, and our school with respect.  This includes how we talk to others, how we talk about ourselves, and how we carefully treat school property.

S – Safety – Above all else, we ensure that we engage in safe activities that do not harm others or ourselves.  We think carefully about how we can keep ourselves and others safe in our daily activities and interactions.
